How to Personalize Your Cover Letter

  • Name the apartment and building correctly.

  • Explain why the home is a long-term fit without oversharing.

  • Mention one or two genuine details noticed during your visits.

  • Keep financial explanations in the financial documents unless context is specifically needed.

  • Use a natural voice and keep the final letter concise.

What to Avoid

Do not promise rule exceptions, renovations, subletting, or other future activity that conflicts with the building’s policies. Avoid generic praise that could apply to any property, and do not repeat the résumé, financial statement, or reference letters word for word.
